- Montag vs. Winston: Montag and Winston view their own societies as restricting and censored to an extent that is not positive for the greater good of humanity. They begin to realize this and how ignorant people are, which sparks them to think in the unfavorable way towards the party. They make change in their societies.
- Clarisse vs. Julia: Clarisse and Montage bond when she introduces him to a new perspective of society. She is 13 years younger than Montag. Julia has a lot common with Winston. She is also 13 years younger than Winston. They are both engulfed with their friends or lover of how they were able to connect on a different level.
- Mildred vs. Katherine: Mildred is too obsessed with her "family" (her wall television). Montag is not truly in love with her; unhappily married. Katherine follows the governments rules and ideas strictly. They both are the resemblence of the majority of the ignorant society that was formed by people not caring.
- Faber vs. O'Brien: Faber sat back and let Montag do all the dirty work. They met once a while back and then finally met back up. O'Brien was the person he had met once and taken a while to meet again when he was ready to have opinionated his own ideas about the government."We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness"
- Beatty vs. O'Brien: Beatty is a follower, he has knowledge and tries to manipulate Montag into believing that books and knowledge leads to "non- peace". O'Brien aslo tries to change Winston's behaviors and instincts against the party; Big Brother.
- Clarisse vs. Syme: They both disappear/ vanish from everyone's memory and existence.
