- War- Both in Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, the majority of people brush off war, but Montag and Winston both view war as a concern. Also, Julia and Mildred don't want to talk about war because they find it boring.
- History- Any document, film, art, photos, etc. is altered and the original copy burned. Any item of news, expression or opinion which conflicted the government were never allowed on record. Anything against the government or "peace" for the people is burned or put to a stop.
- Government- They are scared of their people and them having power or knowledge: 4 partis and rules and book burning.
- Memory- People don't remember what year it is nor less care. They don't care about anything factual. People don't know history. Both societies, they people let them selves create this big trap of ignorance.
- Telescreen and The Hound- The telescreen always watches people and shows the Two Minutes of Hate, videos of hate related things, or political things. The Hound is also always watching and always blood thirsty to keep people in order.
